  • Lifting the per-country cap on Green Card would mainly benefit high-tech professionals on H-1B work visas from countries like India, for whom the wait for Green Card is more than a decade.

    Comments

    Hooman Torabi says:

Ever wonder why only indians are supporting this bill? Not ppl from any other nation? Well i tell you why. Indians with even a bachelors degree come here with an h1b requested from dozens of literally froud companies, low payments, low working conditions. After a while, they claim a greencard. In the meantime, the highly educated indians (who deserve to receive greencard much more than low educated ones) have to wait for a long time. So they said lets just lift this percap country to solve the problem. It doesn’t address this issue for highly educated indians, rather, it extends the issue to every other international student and highly skilled employee. If the bill passes, for the next decade, almost all of the greencards will be issued for indians. Imagine newyork city pretty mich similar to delhi or london bcz of number of indians you see everywhere
